The Baby Unit is situated on the first floor and offers a large 'open plan' play space. The low dividing walls create seperate themed areas whilst retaining a feeling of openness. This helps to give children of different ages their own space as well as 'together time' for group activities. The children have a choice of three separate play areas as well as access to the outdoor play area.
The nursery has a flexible routine for sleeping and eating times and activities are repeated throughout the day, to fit in with your child's needs. Much of the day is spent playing with their peers and key worker who ensures they are happy, motivated and most importantly having fun!
Staff provide opportunities for games, talking, singing, stories, finger plays and rhymes as well as plenty of loving care and attention. Please inform us of your child’s routine and their key worker will work with you to ensure continuity of care.
Research has shown that babies benefit from spending time with toddlers. Playing together helps to aid development as they watch and learn patterns of behavior. We ensure that there are plenty of opportunities for this. We also have a provision that babies from 18 months old can be moved into the toddler unit if we, along with the parents/carers feel that this is suitable.
A record detailing your baby’s daily activities and sleep times etc. is completed by your baby’s key worker, which is given to you at the end of each day.
